John Kolinofsky is a black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and currently trains under Professor João Gabriel Rocha at Alliance Dallas. He also holds a brown belt in Judo under Sensei, Russ Hogan at Eastside Dojo.
John lives in McKinney with his wife and daughter and has spent the past 18 years working as a talent and modeling agent. He owns an agency in Dallas and began training martial arts as a way to stay active and in shape. He quickly fell in love with grappling and began competing in local tournaments in both Jiu Jitsu and Judo.
In 2023 John decided to open Motus Jiu Jitsu as a way to train closer to his home and begin teaching, coaching and sharing his passion for the grappling arts.
Matthew Phillips2025-04-01Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I have been a student here for a year and I'm in great shape and loving every class. It's a great way to stay in shape and keep motivated. Nothing helps me shed stress from a work week better. I'm calm and more focused at work. Would recommend to anyone interested. John is a great teacher and brings broad knowledge and patience to coach kids and adults alike. Riley Fowle2025-03-31Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. John is a great coach! My 6 year old is really enjoying the coaching & learning Jui Jitsu is boosting her confidence. Highly recommend. Nathan & Ali2025-03-28Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I’ve been training in jiu jitsu for over 10 years around the DFW metroplex. I currently live in McKinney and started training at Motus with Professor John Kolinofsky last year. I really like the location in central McKinney, as it is super convenient, and his program is more reasonably priced than the other gyms in the area. John is a really nice guy, and he is very knowledgeable in both Jiu Jitsu and Judo. It’s been a nice place for me to train and it’s friendly to all skill levels. Juan Rock2025-03-26Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. professor Kolinofsky, is patient with both children and adults. He is not afraid to explain things, as many times as needed. I joined this class barely knowing any Jiu Jitsu. Now I am finally gaining confidence in this sport, and things are making more sense. Did I mention that this is A LOT OF FUN!?!?! I highly recommend MOTUS Jiu Jitsu, if you want to exercise and have fun. David Sassower2024-11-05Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Motus is the best! John is an amazing instructor!
